Condolences to family and friends of former SOUTH CAROLINA broadcaster WALLY MULLINAX, who died SATURDAY (10/13).
MULLINAX spent his career in Upstate SOUTH CAROLINA, starting with WFBC-A/GREENVILLE in 1944, then moving to WESC-A in 1949, staying there for 41 years as a host (notably, hosting one of the early Rhythm and Blues shows in the market, then a talk show), programmer, and VP of Sales. He also co-founded WMTY-A-F/GREENWOOD, SC.
A former President of the SOUTH CAROLINA BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION, MULLINAX is a member of the SCBA Hall of Fame. He also hosted a weekly SUNDAY School show on CLEAR CHANNEL Religion WLFJ-A/GREENVILLE, the successor to WESC-A.
