Condolences to family and friends of RUSS "THE WEIRD BEARD" KNIGHT, who died FRIDAY (10/12) in CONNECTICUT.
KNIGHT (born RUSSELL MOORE) was best known for his stints on Top 40 stations KILT-A/HOUSTON and KLIF-A/DALLAS in the 1960s, and also worked as a host and PD at several other stations, including WNEW-A/NEW YORK, WXYZ-A/DETROIT, WCUE-A-F/AKRON, WHK-A/CLEVELAND, WELI-A-WAVZ-A/NEW HAVEN, and WICC-A and WDJZ-A/BRIDGEPORT. He also recreated his KLIF days on the 1962 edition of the "CRUISIN'" record series, recorded in 1970 for INCREASE RECORDS.
A funeral is scheduled for TUESDAY in TRUMBULL, CT at the ABRIOLA PARKVIEW FUNERAL HOME, and a Mass of Christian Burial is set for TUESDAY as well.
