Condolences to family and friends of former KLMO-A-F/LONGMONT, CO owner BILL STEWART, who died SUNDAY evening in LOUISVILLE, CO at 88, according to the LONGMONT TIMES-CALL.
STEWART, born in KANSAS, started his career on the air in COLBY, KS and moved to DENVER to attend the UNIVERSITY OF DENVER and work at KMYR-A as night news editor. He then worked at KOA-A as a news writer, followed by several years at KFKA-A/GREELEY, CO, becoming GM . STEWART then served as GM at KGHF-A/PUEBLO and KWRL-A/RIVERTON, WY before buying KLMO in 1959 and founding KLMO-F in 1969. He sold the stations in 1998.
A member of the BROADCAST PROFESSIONALS OF COLORADO's BROADCAST PIONEERS HALL OF FAME, STEWART was also a past-President of the COLORADO BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION.
