SYNDICATED SOLUTIONS national morning property, THE RICK & BUBBA SHOW, successfully conducted a two-day Radiothon with the humanitarian charity organization WORLD VISION. The Radiothon, held on THURSDAY and FRIDAY, OCT. 11th-12th, resulted in over 900 children (and counting) being sponsored worldwide.
In total, $1.2 million has been raised in 2012 -- and over $4.5 million combined since 2009.
"The power of THE RICK & BUBBA SHOW is beyond impressive," SSI Pres. BOB CAREY said. "Every time we challenge or prod the audience, they respond overwhelmingly with amazing results. We are very blessed with our successes and it’s so important for us to give back in a meaningful way with our resources and platform. Our philanthropic marriage with WORLD VISION helps us accomplish this and I am very proud of our successes to help so many kids in need around the globe. These past four years we’ve improved the lives of over 3,500 children worldwide and I couldn’t be more proud of RICK BURGESS, BILL 'BUBBA' BUSSEY, our team and without question one of the best audiences in all of radio. I also want to thank our outstanding affiliates and sponsors, because without them, this tremendous accomplishment would not be possible."
"When you are given a platform like we have with this show, it's things like the WORLD VISION Radiothon that really matter," BURGESS and BUSSEY said. "t the end of our lives it's the things we do for the kingdom of God that will judge whether we were truly successful or not. God has given us an audience that gets that and to think that a little over $30 a month is now going to be sent to families that make an average of $80 a year all over the world is powerful. Over 900 kids this year and over 3,500 kids the past four years -- wow! It's humbling to think that somehow we are allowed to be part of something that made a difference. Isn't that what we all hope to achieve in this business?"
