WARNER MUSIC GROUP expects between a $2 and $22 million revenue increase for the three months ended September 30th, 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, MUSICWEEK reports. WMG's note to investors also predicts Q4 revenue in the range of $721-$741 million.
Revenue from its recorded music business, prior to intersegment eliminations, is expected to rise from $583 million in 2011 to somewhere between $598-614 million this year. Revenue for Warner Music Publishing, prior to intersegment eliminations, is expected to fall from $141 million in 2011 to a range of approximately $130-$134 million.
WMG did note "a long list of 'risks and uncertainties"" including shelf space competition, economic conditions, piracy and 'our dependence on a limited number of online music stores, in particular APPLE's iTUNES Music Store" that could alter its revenue projections
