A RASMUSSEN REPORTS survey of 1,000 adults showed that only 19% of Americans consider funding of public broadcasting a "major issue" in the presidential campaign. 66% of adults think the topic is not a major issue, and 15% are not sure.
The topic of funding public media was raised by Republican candidate MITT ROMNEY in the first debate as an example of what he would cut from the budget, and his comment about liking SESAME STREET's Big Bird led to a widespread Internet meme.
The survey was conducted OCTOBER 10th-11th.
