Tom Leykis Helps Catch Mail Thief

TOM LEYKIS managed to make it to TMZ, but instead of being caught in a compromising position, he's being lauded for his role in helping catch an alleged mail thief in his LOS ANGELES neighborhood.

LEYKIS, whose show now streams online via his NEW NORMAL NETWORK at blowmeuptom.com, told TMZ that he spotted the mail thief reaching into a neighbor's mail box while wearing an oven mitt a few weeks ago and, suspicious, LEYKIS snapped photos of the man.  He then filed a police report and circulated the photos through his Neighborhood Watch, led by none other than KENT MCCORD of "ADAM-12" fame.  When the mail thief hit the neighborhood again this weekend, the photos helped a neighbor recognize the man, leading to the arrest.
