There is a new radio station on the air on MAINE's midcoast, as WCME (RADIO 9) will broadcast at 900 on the AM dial from studios at the Fort Andross office complex in BRUNSWICK. WCME is introducing itself and previewing its programming, which will soon include local top-of-the-hour news, local weather updates, and local sports coverage, as well as the MIDCOAST Morning Buzz -- a daily full-service morning show.
WCME Pres./Owner JIM BLEIKAMP said, "There are three key words in our programming plans at WCME -- local, local and local. In an era in which many radio stations air nationally-syndicated programs, WCME will focus all of its energies on the MIDCOAST. If it's an event or a news story going on down the street, you'll be hearing about it on WCME. If a weather emergency develops on the MIDCOAST, we'll cover it live from start to finish. If a dog or cat is missing, we're not too busy to mention it on the air."
BLEIKAMP went on to say, "We're actually launching WCME 2.0, because the station existed with the same call letters and on the same frequency for decades in the mid-and-late 20th century. We look forward to many years of sound service to the MIDCOAST."
