Veteran TRIBUNE CO. broadcasting executive STEVE CARVER, who had been overseeing the company's only radio property, Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, will relinquish that duty as he moves to the job of President of the HARTFORD COURANT replacing JACK DAVIS, effective JULY 10. The move was prompted by the sale of the TV station that had been CARVER's primary responsibility, WATL-TV/ATLANTA (where he was VP/GM), to GANNETT for $180 million.
WGN VP/GM TOM LANGMYER will now report to EVP JOHN VITANOVEC.
