97.1 The Fan/Columbus Fires Host Over Tweet

DISPATCH/RADIOHIO Sports WBNS-F (971 THE FAN)/COLUMBUS has fired "THE COMMON MAN AND THE TORG" co-host SCOTT TORGERSON over his tweet criticizing ESPN commentator and former MICHIGAN Heisman Trophy winner DESMOND HOWARD.  

TORGERSON was suspended for the tweet last week (NET NEWS 10/17).  The station issued a statement reading, "SCOTT TORGERSON is no longer employed by our company as of today. We appreciate his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors."

On OCTOBER 13th, TORGERSON tweeted, "I wish DESMOND HOWARD would get fired or die so I can watch GAMEDAY again."   The tweet went viral and led to the suspension and firing.
