During ARBITRON's Q3 financial call YESTERDAY (10/24), COO SEAN CREAMER told those listening that the company was getting closer to launching the Internet radio ratings service that's been in the works for more than a year.
With CEO WILLIAM KERR unavailable due to "troubles on AMTRACK," CREAMER responded to a question from DEUTSCHE BANK's MATT CHESTER about ARBITRON's plan to roll out a ratings service for webcasters. CREAMER described the project as having a "continued evolution," but "recent conversations would suggest it's not a question of if, but when, we launch this service."
The service, as described by CREAMER, would combine the over-the-air numbers with streaming numbers "to give a single footprint," adding " we are going to create an integrated audience measurement service that reports broadcast and digital audiences to ensure that our customers get credit for their entire audience, regardless of the distribution channel."
