THE CONCLAVE has announced the recipients of its 2006 radio and music industry scholarships, which will be awarded during the ARBITRON Awards Luncheon on SATURDAY JULY 15th. Collectively, the 2006scholarships are valued at over $65,000.
The SPECS HOWARD SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION ARTS SCHOLARSHIP, given in memory of the legendary BILL GAVIN, is awarded to DEVEN KHRUCELL of PONTIAC, MI. ANDREW CULP of PORTAGE, IN will receive the DENNIS BECKER SCHOLARSHIP, given in memory of one of the CONCLAVE’s founding fathers and a long-time BROWN INSTITUTE educator. And the MCNALLY SMITH COLLEGE OF MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP goes to KYLE FRENETTE CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI
THE CONCLAVE also announces the three winners of the $1,500 DOUG LEE MEMORIAL BACCALAUREATE SCHOLARSHIPS – presented in honor of the CONCLAVE’s founder - which will be awarded to the following students in the state of North Carolina: CHAIRITY HOLLOWAY of WINSTON-SALEM STATE; RICHARD LEIMAN from the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA-CHARLOTTE; and CHRISTOPHER JAMES BACON of NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY.
