The 50th Annual ASCAP COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS (NET NEWS 6/5) took place YESTERDAY (10/29) at the GAYLORD OPRYLAND HOTEL in NASHVILLE.
35 different awards were given throughout the evening, for APRIL 2011-MARCH 2012 songs.
BEN HAYSLIP won the coveted “Songwriter Of The Year” award. HAYSLIP has written numerous songs including BLAKE SHELTON’s “Honey Bee,” LUKE BRYAN’s “I Don’t Want This Night To End,” MARTINA McBRIDE’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” and CRAIG MORGAN’s “This Ole Boy.”
LYLE LOVETT received the “Creative Voice Award” (NET NEWS 10/4) and BOB McDILL was honored with the “Golden Note Award” (NET NEWS 8/3).
“Country Publisher Of The Year” went to SONY/ATV/EMI, with “Country Songwriter/ Artist Of The Year” being awarded to BRAD PAISLEY. “Country Music Song Of The Year” honors went to the songwriters of “Honey Bee” and “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.”
