Just in time for the NBA season, the NEW ORLEANS HORNETS have inked a deal with CLEAR CHANNEL Spanish Sports WODT-A (ESPN DEPORTES 1280 AM)/NEW ORLEANS to air all 82 regular season games in Spanish. EMILIO PERALTA and DAVID LOPEZ will call the action starting with tonight's season opener against the SAN ANTONIO SPURS.
“We are so excited to be working with the HORNETS,” said CLEAR CHANNEL President/Market Manager DICK LEWIS. “Our goal in launching ESPN DEPORTES on WODT AM 1280 was to serve the vital and growing Spanish speaking community in NEW ORLEANS. It was our hope from the outset to be able to originate the entire season of HORNETS Basketball Play-by-Play in Español on WODT. Now it’s a reality. This is fantastic!”
The HORNETS' Spanish-language broadcasts were previously heard on crosstown SUNBURST MEDIA Spanish AC WFNO-A (LA FABULOSA 830).
