A pirate FM station in LONGVIEW, WA has shut down after a visit from the FCC, reports the LONGVIEW DAILY NEWS.
KRAP RADIO ("Radioactive Rock") was launched by DAVID "MR. E" TEDDER two years ago in response to the change in format of ALPHA BROADCASTING Active Rock KUFO/PORTLAND to Talk KXL-F. An agent from the FCC's PORTLAND office, BINH NGUYEN, visited the station MONDAY and informed TEDDER that he could not operate the station without a license.
The station remains available online, and TEDDER told the paper that he plans to apply for a low-power FM license when he raises enough donations to cover the cost.
