Noncommercial WDET/DETROIT GM MICHAEL COLEMAN has been sentenced to two year's probation, 50 hours of community service, and $3,500 in restitution payments for embezzlement at his previous job, MICHIGAN PUBLIC MEDIA.
COLEMAN pleaded no contest to one count of embezzlement of under $200, with a separate felony count dismissed under the plea bargain. The charges stemmed from trade deals at the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN's public radio/TV stations, with COLEMAN primarily charged with taking meals from an ANN ARBOR bar in a trade for underwriting announcements.
