ARKANSAS sports talker BO MATTINGLY is moving his regionally syndicated "SPORTS TALK WITH BO MATTINGLY" from SIGNAL MEDIA Sports KABZ (103.7 THE BUZZ)/LITTLE ROCK to crosstown CRAIN MEDIA Talk KKSP (FRESH TALK 93.3), starting DECEMBER 10th. The show will have its last airing on THE BUZZ on FRIDAY (11/9) and will move time slots in the market from 1-4p (CT) on THE BUZZ to 2-6p on KKSP.
KKSP will take over sales and marketing for the show's network; HAWGS ILLUSTRATED's JIMMY DYKES and DUDLEY DAWSON will continue to co-host the show. Meanwhile, KKSP's present afternoon sports show, "GAME ON WITH WESS AND MICHAEL," will move to an earlier slot and precede MATTINGLY, replacing a midday airing of AMERICA'S RADIO NEWS NETWORK, and a new local MONDAY night show, "WEEKLY FRIED WITH BLAKE EDDINS AND REX NELSON," will be added for 7-9p.
“Our CENTRAL ARKANSAS listeners have been telling me they want to hear me later in the day, especially on the way home from work”, said MATTINGLY. “2pm-6pm is our time slot on our other network stations throughout most of ARKANSAS and our CENTRAL ARKANSAS listeners wanted to hear the entire show. This is a chance to make that happen."
On his website, MATTINGLY added, "It is with mixed feelings we say good bye to our friends at KABZ. We have thoroughly enjoyed the last four years and it’s been an honor to be part of the BUZZ station lineup. The staff and listeners of that station have been wonderful to us and we are grateful and appreciative for the opportunity. Of course any time you leave a great place there is a feeling of sadness, but with change also comes excitement and we are looking forward to a new and different opportunity on 93.3 FM."“We’re very excited about adding 'SPORTS TALK WITH BO MATTINGLY' to the KKSP lineup. It’s clear that listeners want more and more sports information, and BO’s show really sets the standard for great interviews and insights”, said KKSP Station Manger NEAL GLADNER. “I think BO has built the 'go-to' franchise for sports information, and we look forward to being his new CENTRAL ARKANSAS home."
During the 30 days between the end of the show's run on THE BUZZ and the launch on KKSP, the show will continue to air on its other four affiliates in ARKANSAS.
