NO SHAVE NOVEMBER (NET NEWS 10/4) is in full swing, and in its 2nd year as a ST. JUDE CHILDREN’s RESEARCH HOSPITAL fundraiser, the event has already raised more money than last year.
With music industry execs and radio personnel from across the country participating, the goal is to raise $100,000 in the beard-growing competition. Upon paying a $30 entry, the participants each started NOVEMBER 1st with a clean-shaven face. Participants are not allowed to shave for the entire month, however, a third party can pay $30 to make that person shave. Another $30 donation can trump that request. At the end of the competition, prizes will be awarded in different beard categories.
As of TODAY (11/7) TEAM CASEY JAMES is in the lead, having raised $3,965 so far. MERCURY RECORDS NASHVILLE VP Promotion, DAMON MOBERLY is leading in the individual participant category at $3,005. Within the first 7 days of the competition, the event has already raised more than last year, and has met nearly 39% of its 2012 goal ($38,755 raised so far).
All proceeds benefit ST. JUDE CHILDREN’s RESEARCH HOSPITAL. Check out pictures of the participants here and check out the leaderboards, along with more NO SHAVE NOVEMBER info, here.
