CRTC OKs CFYK-A/Yellowknife Move To FM

The CBC has received CRTC approval to move CBC RADIO ONE affiliate CFYK-A/YELLOWKNIFE, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES to FM. The station will move to 98.9 FM with 1,220 watts at 46.57 meters above average terrain.
In addition, ABORIGINAL MULTI-MEDIA SOCIETY OF ALBERTA Native Type-B station CFWE-FM-4/EDMONTON has been granted a new rebroadcasting transmitter at LAC LA BICHE, AB. The retransmitter will operate at 90.5 FM with 19,600 watts at 100 meters above average terrain and will replace the present CFWE/LAC LA BICHE, VF2244/BUFFALO LAKE SETTLEMENT, VF2242/BEAVER LAKE RESERVE, VF2254/KIKINO SETTLEMENT, and VF2183/GOODFISH LAKE SETTLEMENT.
