Bubba Lets 5th Grader Talk Gay Rights On Show

BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE gave 10-year-old GAVIN BARRERA the microphone to give his 5th grade speech on gay rights, after the 4H CLUB, which was sponsoring the "Tropicana Speech" competition, told him the speech wasn't age-appropriate and that he'd have to talk about something else. After his mother,  LAJUANDA BARRERA, objected, the 4H CLUB relented, but sent waivers to every student’s home for their parents to be able to "opt out" of their child hearing GAVIN speak.

Still embittered, Mrs. BARRERA called the BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE® Show to vent; BUBBA then offered Gavin an open microphone on nationally syndicated radio show to give his speech. This morning Gavin gave his speech and explained why he chose the subject -- his 24-year-old sister ELENA is gay and, ironically enough, who won the “Tropicana Speech” competition when she was in 5th grade.

"I have a problem with the government’s stance on this on many levels," BUBBA said. "Of course the first problem is censoring GAVIN’s speech, it also teaches the other students in the school that discrimination is just fine as long as it’s gay people who are being discriminated against."
