The YOLO COUNTY Board of Supervisors has unanimously granted final approval to a new 365-foot tower for RESULTS RADIO Hot AC KMJE/GRIDLEY-YUBA CITY, CA, allowing the station to move into the SACRAMENTO market with city of license WOODLAND, and UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA-DAVIS noncommercial KDVS/DAVIS, reports the WOODLAND DAILY DEMOCRAT.
The board met TUESDAY to consider whether the tower, to be built near a landfill, needed more environmental review, but some local residents took the opportunity to contend that they had not had a chance to challenge the tower's construction beforehand and an attorney alleged that "no less than 10 endangered species which visit the site" were not recognized in the county's environmental review. The board nevertheless voted 5-0 to move ahead, deciding that no further environmental review was necessary.
KMJE's format is being simulcast on K238AV/YUBA CITY, which is now being promoted as the primary frequency of the station (as SUNNY 95.5). The 101.5 signal is likely to change once the SACRAMENTO move-in signal is completed.
