The devastation of Hurricane SANDY has forced the STARLAND BALLROOM in SAYREVILLE, NJ to cancel most scheduled shows until Spring 2013. What's more its NOV. 16th and 25 TAKING BACK SUNDAY performances have been combined into one performance on NOV. 25th at the PINE BELT ARENA in TOMS RIVER. Additionally, STARLAND’s NOV. 24th SUM 41 performance has been moved to NOV. 25th at the STONE PONY in ASBURY PARK. STARLAND will list the remainder of its cancellations and relocations by the end of this week at Starlandballroom.com.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the millions across the EAST COAST who have suffered the effects of Hurricane SANDY,” AEG VP and STARLAND BALLROOM GM COLIN J. CONWAY said. "Like so many of our friends and neighbors, we are committed to rebuilding our homes, our businesses and our community. As we embark on this process, our commitment to our neighbors and our state is that we will not stop until the STARLAND BALLROOM is back to being the best concert venue in NEW JERSEY."
"While our damage is significant, this is an opportunity for us to not only make the repairs that are required, but also a chance to make additional improvements and install upgrades, upholding STARLAND BALLROOM’s reputation as the premier destination of its type for live events in NEW JERSEY," CONWAY added. "STARLAND BALLROOM will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2013, and plans are already underway to commemorate that milestone."
