Condolences to family, friends, and fans of longtime DETROIT weatherman and broadcaster SONNY ELIOT, who died this morning at his home in FARMINGTON HILLS, MI at 91.
ELIOT, born MARVIN SCHLOSSBERG, was best known as the longtime weather forecaster at NBC affiliate WWJ-TV (later WDIV-TV), which he joined in 1947, and CBS affiliate WJBK-TV (now a FOX affiliate) and as a movie host at then-independent WKBD-TV. More recently, he was heard on CBS RADIO News WWJ-A with two daily afternoon weather reports until SEPTEMBER 2010.
