WASK RADIO GROUP Country WKOA (K105) LAFAYETTE, IN took to the streets for a food drive on WEDNESDAY (11/21), the day before THANKSGIVING.
As the station’s staff does each year, a goal was set of how many meals they hope to collect, as well as a challenging way to entice their listeners to donate. This year, APD/ MD/ Morning Co-host ANNIE JAMES tells ALL ACCESS that she and Morning Co-host SHAMUS remained in a freezer truck until their goal was reached.
“Each year we set a goal and come up with some kind of silly way to torture ourselves until we reach it. This year, the goal was to be stuck in a freezer truck at 20 degrees, until we had 15,000 meals collected. After 7 hours and 45 minutes we had collected more than 16,000!! It was a great day!!” said ANNIE.
