TODAY (11/29), NEXTMEDIA Country WCEN/SAGINAW PD JOBY PHILLIPS told ALL ACCESS about the passing of local boy JAYDEN LAMB, who died on TUESDAY (11/27), just two weeks before his 9th birthday.
JAYDEN had been battling cancer, and had visited WCEN for the past two years during the station’s annual ST. JUDE CHILDREN’s RESEARCH HOSPITAL radiothon events. PHILLIPS said that the entire staff at WCEN was devastated and calls of support had been flooding in ever since they broke the news to listeners.
After meeting the LAMB family, ARISTA NASHVILLE artist BRAD PAISLEY had kept up over the years. He shared a CHRISTMAS card that JAYDEN had made for him two years ago (seen here), saying “My favorite CHRISTMAS card yet. From my coolest little pal, JAYDEN.” In JAYDEN’s final moments, the family comforted him by played PAISLEY’s “Water,” saying that it had been his favorite song. BRAD wrote to the family on FACEBOOK saying that he was devastated after learning of JAYDEN’s passing.
BIG MACHINE RECORDS artist TAYLOR SWIFT heard the news while travelling overseas this week. She personally called the family from AUSTRALIA to express her condolences.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for SATURDAY (12/1). Further details, along with an interview from JAYDEN’s father TOM LAMB can be watched here. Condolences to the family can be written on their FACEBOOK page, “Keep On Truckin’ Team JAYDEN.”
