Carrie Underwood To Star In NBC Broadcast Of ‘The Sound Of Music’

19/ARISTA NASHVILLE artist CARRIE UNDERWOOD has been tapped to star as MARIA VON TRAPP in NBC-TV’s live broadcast of “THE SOUND OF MUSIC,” based on the original BROADWAY musical. The air-date will be announced near the holidays in 2013. The show will be produced by CRAIG ZADAN and NEIL MERON, who are also producing the “85th ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS.”
