TRIAD BROADCASTING COMPANY, LLC (MONTEREY LICENSES, LLC, MISSISSIPPI MEDIA BROADCASTING, LLC, GO RADIO BROADCASTING, LLC, JMP RADIO GROUP, LLC, ADVENTURE COMMUNICATIONS, LLC and WDVENTURE COMMUNICATIONS, INC.) is selling its stations to LARRY WILSON's L&L BROADCASTING, LLC for $21 million. WILSON is the CEO and 25% owner of the buyer; WILSON's ALPHA BROADCASTING will own 16.6% of L&L, with the MOFFITT FAMILY TRUST owning 25%, ROBERT FULLER and JEREMY SALSBURG holding 16.7% each and, as they are with ALPHA, BOB PROFFITT as President/COO and DONNA HEFFNER as CFO and Secretary.
The TRIAD stations being sold include Classic Country WIRL-A, Talk WMBD-A-W262BY, Classic Hits WPBG (93.3 THE DRIVE), AC WSWT (LITE ROCK 107),/PEORIA, IL; Classic Rock WDQX (102.3 MAX FM) and W274BM/MORTON, IL; Country WXCL (104.9 THE WOLF)/PEKIN, IL; Country KBMW-A, Hot AC KLTA, Classic Rock KPFX (107.9 THE FOX), Oldies KQWB-A (TRUE OLDIES 1660), Active Rock KQWB-F (Q98 ROCKS), and Country KVOX-F (FROGGY 99.9)/FARGO-MOORHEAD; Classic Rock WKOY-F (EAGLE 100.1 AND 100.9 FM)/PRINCETON, WV; Classic Country WKEZ-A (ROOSTER COUNTRY 1240), Hot AC WHAJ (J104.5), Talk WHIS-A, and Country WHKX-WHQX (KICKS COUNTRY)/BLUEFIELD-TAZEWELL, WV; Active Rock WCPR-F/WIGGINS, MS; Sports WXBD-A-WTNI-A- WUJM (96.7 THE CHAMP)/BILOXI-GULFPORT, MS; Adult Hits WQBB (BOB 105.9)/PASCAGOULA, MS; Top 40 WXYK (107.1 THE MONKEY)/GULFPORT, MS; Hot AC WXYY (Y107.9)/PORT ROYAL, SC; Classic Hits WGCO (BIG 98.3)/MIDWAY, GA; Active Rock WFXH-F (ROCK 106.1)/HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC; Country WUBB (BOB 106.9)/BLUFFTON, SC; Adult Standards WHHW-A (AM 1130 THE ISLAND) and W228CI/HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC; and Classic Hits WGZO (103.1 THE DRIVE)/PARRIS ISLAND, SC.
In other filings with the FCC, RANDAL J. MILLER is selling 100% of his interest in VIRDEN BROADCASTING CORP., licensee of Talk WKEI-A, W282AL, and W271BL/KEWANEE, IL, Country WJRE (HOGG COUNTRY 102.5)/GALVA, IL, and Oldies WYEC (REWIND 93.9/102.1)/CAMBRIDGE,IL, to FLETCHER FORD for $800,000.
LEHIGH CARBON COMMUNITY COLLEGE is selling noncommercial WXLV/SCHNECKSVILLE, PA to FOUR RIVERS COMMUNITY BROADCASTING CORPORATION for $705,000.
TOWNSQUARE MEDIA TYLER LICENSE, LLC is selling Urban Oldies KDOK-A (THE BEAT)/KILGORE, TX to CHUCK CONRAD's CHALK HILL COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $65,000.
The price for the previously announced sale by TOWERS INVESTMENT TRUST of Top 40/Rhythmic KTTY (105.1 MAX FM)/NEW BOSTON, TX-TEXARKANA to TEXARKANA RADIO CENTER is $150,000, according to the paperwork filed with the Commission.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF THE FINGER LAKES, INC. is selling FM translator W283AU/HOUGHTON, NY to LLOYD LANE, INC. for $5,000. The station will rebroadcast the buyer's Country WCJW-A (CJ COUNTRY)/WARSAW, NY.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. is selling FM translator K255CG/KENAI, AK to PENINSULA COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $25,000.
And ANDREW J. DISTERHAFT is selling FM translator W247AZ/BERLIN, WI to HOMETOWN BROADCASTING, LLC for $6,000. The station rebroadcasts the buyer's Talk WISS-A/BERLIN, WI.
In closings reported to the Commission, BORDER MEDIA PARTNERS has closed on the sale of Sports KZNX-A (ESPN AUSTIN, simulcast with KTXX-F)/CREEDMOOR-AUSTIN to AMERICA TELECOMMUNICATIONS GROUP, INC. for $600,000.
BILL BINNIE's CARLISLE CAPITAL CORP. has closed on the purchase of 30 NASSAU BROADCASTING stations from bankruptcy for $12.5 million. BINNIE's WBIN MEDIA CO., INC. has also closed on the acquisition of FM translator W298AH/CLAREMONT, NH from VERTICAL CAPITAL PARTNERS, LP for no consideration.
WESTERN NEW YORK PUBLIC BROADCASTING ASSOCIATION has closed on the sale of noncommercial News-Talk WNED-A/BUFFALO to KIMTRON INC. for $875,000 cash. The station will flip to Religion as WDCZ-A under its new owner.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has closed on the purchase of Contemporary Christian KKCS (K-LOVE)/CALHAN, CO from CALHAN RADIO, LLC for $1.
And THE MONTANA RADIO COMPANY, LLC has closed on the sale of FM translators K248BU/MISSOULA, MT and K287AW/HAMILTON, MT to SPANISH PEAKS BROADCASTING, INC. for forgiveness of a 2011 promissory note.
The Commission has also approved the move by EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION of FM translator W227BF/ARDEN HILLS, MN to MINNEAPOLIS' IDS CENTER and an increase from 10 to 99 watts. UPPER MIDWEST BROADCASTING reports that the translator move follows a move of W225AP/ST, PAUL to MINNEAPOLIS' WELLS FARGO CENTER; the moves specify CLEAR CHANNEL Triple A KTCZ and Sports KFXN (KFAN)/MINNEAPOLIS as primary stations.
UPPER MIDWEST BROADCASTING is also reporting that JOHN M. TORRES has applied for a waiver to move W277AC/WATERTOWN, WI to CLYMAN, WI and move from 103.3 FM to 92.7 FM, relaying WBEV-A/BEAVER DAM, WI. The move requires a waiver because the new coverage area does not overlap the old coverage.
Also, The debtor group that applied to take over 10 NASSAU BROADCASTING stations in NEW JERSEY and PENNSYLVANIA in bankruptcy has received approval from U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge KEVIN GROSS to assign its right to buy the stations to JEFF WARSHAW's CONNOISSEUR MEDIA. NB BROADCASTING LLC, headed by DOUGLAS A. PLUSS, made a credit bid (by NASSAU's lenders led by GOLDMAN SACHS) of $38.7 million plus $1,633,890 for administrative costs and assumption of liabilities for the stations, which include Top 40 WPST and Religion WCHR-A/TRENTON; Spanish Sports WNJE-A (ESPN DEPORTES RADIO)/FLEMINGTON, NJ, Classic Hits WODE-F (99.9 THE HAWK)/EASTON, PA; Sports simulcast WEEX-A/EASTON, PA-WTKZ-A/ALLENTOWN, PA (ESPN 1230 AND 1320); Religion WBYN-A (THE LIGHT 1160)/LEHIGHTON, PA; Active Rock WWYY (107 THE BONE)/BELVIDERE, NJ; and Talk WVPO-A and Hot AC WSBG/STROUDSBURG. The transfer has not yet been filed with the Commission.
