CHRISTIAN MUSIC BROADCASTERS (CMB) has purchased PROGRAMDIRECTOR.NET, effective JANUARY 1st. CMB is merging parts of PROGRAMDIRECTOR.NET into its current site. PROGRAMDIRECTOR.net and its hosted forums will be re-branded under CMB's name CMBONLINE.ORG, which will offer users the ability to join CMB and register for its Production Summit and Momentum events.
CMB Chair and Executive Director CHRIS LEMKE said, "CMB has stepped up in big ways in 2012 with monthly teleconferences, regional summits and the best Momentum yet. We were simply looking for ways to better connect and communicate with even more people to fulfill our vision of investing in people. Acquiring PROGRAMDIRECTOR.net allows us to do just that without re-inventing the wheel.
BOB THORNTON, founder of PROGRAMDIRECTOR.NET, added, "I started the PD FORUM after a GMA meeting in the mid 90s with about a half dozen peers. Over the years it's been rewarding to see it grow into eight different specialty forums with hundreds of members, becoming a virtual meeting place for the industry. I've seen CMB's commitment to grow not only the industry, but the relationships within the industry, so merging PROGRAMDIRECTOR.net with CMB is a natural fit and one that will be good for the industry."
"With regard to the websites' transition, the essentials should be ready by 1/15, with the ambition of adding new resources over the span of 2013," said LEMKE.
