Country start-up label RPM ENTERTAINMENT has agreed to a royalty deal with CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT. THE TENNESSEAN reports, "specific terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it revolves around RPM ENTERTAINMENT receiving payments when its artists' songs are played over the airwaves, in exchange for accepting a lower royalty rate for online streaming>"
"We're very excited," RPM Founder SCOTT SIMAN said. "The overarching concept is to try to build a digital strategy with our radio partners. As radio evolves as a business, we want to help them do that."
