Characterizing the move as "a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life," KEVIN RICHARDSON has announced that he is leaving the BACKSTREET BOYS after 13 years with the group.
The four remaining BACKSTREET BOYS - NICK CARTER, HOWIE DOROUGH, BRIAN LITTRELL and AJ MCLEAN - are currently working on a new album scheduled for release later this year. In a statement on their website, the group announced that they do not plan to replace RICHARDSON, and that "the door will always be open for him to return to the BACKSTREET BOYS."
