Everyone at ALL ACCESS is very saddened to have learned that HITS Crossover Editor KIM HUGHES passed away suddenly last FRIDAY (1/4) at her home in MALIBU, following a sudden heart attack. She was only 52.
KIM was a colorful and exciting veteran of the radio and music business, growing up in SAN FRANCISCO and getting her start in the programming department at KMEL work with then-PD KEITH NAFTALY and his MD HOSH GURELI.
She eventually joined RCA RECORDS as the SAN FRANCISCO local rep, and then moved on up to run the Crossover department for the label under BUTCH WAUGH and SKIP BISHOP.
KIM went on to join LOUD RECORDS as VP/Promotion and later worked for TRAUMA RECORDS before joining HITS in 2003.
ALL ACCESS President & Publisher JOEL DENVER said, "KIM was a great friend and a neighbor for so many years. Her energy, enthusiasm and passion for radio, music, and life will be missed by so many of the friends she'd met and worked with over a long and successful career. GOD speed KIM."
Word about memorial services are pending.
