The NBA's SACRAMENTO KINGS have been sold to a group led by SEATTLE-based businessman CHRISTOPHER HANSEN, who will move the team to SEATTLE and rename them the SEATTLE SUPER SONICS. SEATTLE was home to the SUPER SONICS until just before the 2008-2009 season when they moved to OKLAHOMA CITY and became the THUNDER.
SANDUSKY Top 40/Mainstream KQMV (MOViN 92.5)/SEATTLE is so excited about the return of the SONICS to SEATTLE that they changed the name of the station to SONICS 92.5 for the day.
In a press release, SANDUSKY/SEATTLE OM and MOViN 92.5 PD MAYNARD commented, "Just want to give a shout out to all the great basketball fans in the SEATTLE area who can’t wait to get the SONICS back. Boy is SEATTLE excited!"
