FCC Fines Sacto Pirate, Texas LPFM, Yuma FM

The FCC has slapped WILLIAM STEPHEN MAJOR of SACRAMENTO with a $10,000. fine for operating a pirate station on 96.5 FM.
In other FCC fine news, LPFM operator POWER RADIO CORP. gets nicked for $3,000. for failure to file a Form 319 license modification application after replacing its antenna at KXPW-LP/GEORGETOWN, TX. The Commission didn't buy the licensee's excuse that it should be excused as a new operator.
BRAZOS VALLEY BROADCASTING, LLC got fined $1,000. for public file violations at AC KZTR (101.9 THE VALLEY)/FRANKLIN, TX.
The Commission also okayed the sale of noncommercial WTRK/BAY CITY, MI by BEYOND THE BAY MEDIA GROUP to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION and renewed the station's license but fined the seller $4,000. for operating its antenna at a location slightly at variance with the construction permit and at a different height (after the tower was shortened and the antenna relocated).
And FARMWORKERS EDUCATIONAL RADIO NETWORK, INC. got nailed for an $8,000. fine for EAS violations at Regional Mexican KCEC (RADIO CAMPESINA)/WELLTON-YUMA, AZ.
