SHOCKER!!! CUMULUS Top 40 KRBE/HOUSTON PD TRACY AUSTIN has resigned her post, effective at the conclusion of her contract at the end of AUGUST, and she has accepted the PD post at DMG RADIO AUSTRALIA's Top 40 and market leading NOVA 106.9/BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA. AUSTIN replaces ADAM WILLISCROFT, who was promoted to the PD post at DMG sister NOVA 96.9/SYDNEY.
"In our international search for the best candidate for the job we were thrilled to secure TRACY's talents. She is a world-class programmer with a great track record and breadth of experience, said NOVA 106.9 GM SEAN RYAN. "TRACY was attracted to NOVA because of NOVA’s reputation for innovation, fun and rule breaking. She is also well aware of Nova’s pioneering ‘Never more than 2 ads in a row’ concept, which other networks around the world are now following."
DMG's emphasis on protecting the brand and cultivating talent is the perfect venue for the next step in my radio career.
AUSTIN told ALL ACCESS, "I have been watching DMG's NOVA stations for years. They invented `Less Is More' with their `never more than 2 ads in a row' strategy! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to gain international experience with such an innovative, creative company! DMG's emphasis on protecting the brand and cultivating talent is the perfect venue for the next step in my radio career. NOVA is a radio oasis for creativity, innovation, strong localism and the chance to live in BRISBANE was too good to turn down. I can’t wait to become a QUEENSLANDER.
"It's also been a great 4 and a half years here at KRBE. I'm very proud of the staff and everything we've accomplished. In spite of a major change in morning drive, we've performed consistently in our target demos over the past year. With the help of JAN JEFFRIES and the support of CUMULUS, I know APD/MD LESLIE WHITTLE and the staff will carry on the great KRBE tradition!"
