ALL ACCESS sends a special thank you out to VANGUARD RECORD's AYAPPA BIDDANDA, LORI ANDERSON and the entire label staff who welcomed radio and the press to a private listening party for legendary musician JOHN FOGERTY's new album "Wrote A Song For Everyone."
ROLLING STONE Music journalist DAVID WILD interviewed JOHN FOGERTY in an intimate setting last night (FEBRUARY 21st) at the HOTEL CAFE in HOLLYWOOD. FOGERTY introduced each song and discussed the recording of the record (which he produced with his wife JULIE) and what it was like to work with all of the big name artists that contributed to the project.
The album features new recordings of the FOGERTY classics "Fortunate Son (f. THE FOO FIGHTERS)," "Almost Saturday Night (f. KEITH URBAN)," "Long As I Can See The Light (f. MY MORNING JACKET)," "Born On The Bayou (f. KID ROCK)," "Someday Never Comes (f. DAWES)," "Who'll Stop The Rain (f. BOB SEGER)," "Have You Ever Seen The Rain (f. ALAN JACKSON), "PROUD MARY (f. JENNIFER HUDSON)," "Bad Moon Rising (f. ZAC BROWN BAND)," The title track, "Wrote A Song For Everyone (f. MIRANDA LAMBERT and TOM MORELLO)," and a guitar dual with BRAD PAISLEY on "Hot Rod Heart." In addition, the album also includes a new track entitled "Mystic Highway," and a new version of "LODI" which features FOGERTY's sons SHANE and TYLER FOGERTY.
FOGERTY also talked about his rise to success, playing WOODSTOCK, his experience with FANTASY RECORDS, the VIETNAM WAR, and the political environment in which he originally wrote these songs and how those events influenced his songwriting. Look for the new album "Wrote A Song For Everyone" in stores on MAY 28th.
Among those in attendance were FOGERTY's drummer KENNY ARONOFF, CLEAR CHANNEL's JOHN IVEY, SIRIUS/XM Deep Tracks Free-Form DJ JIM LADD, KCSN/LOS ANGELES PD SKY DANIELS, and ALL ACCESS' KEN ANTHONY and MARK STRICKLAND.
