Look for the BBC to try allowing listeners to create their own online virtual "radio stations" from BBC content. Director General MARK THOMPSON told the RADIO FESTIVAL in CAMBRIDGE that the service, with the working name of "MYBBCRADIO," will be incorporated into the BBC's iPlayer on-demand service and will distribute content using peer-to-peer technology. The BBC has been aggressively moving into the new media area with online program delivery, podcasting, and streaming, with THOMPSON voicing a desire to look for new ways to open BBC content to users in a bid to "reinvent" the company.
