LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Country KSON/SAN DIEGO has launched a Classic Country station on its HD2 (97.3 FM) channel. KSON Legendary Country will feature 24-hour programming and music from artists such as ALAN JACKSON, GARTH BROOKS, KENNY ROGERS, DOLLY PARTON, PATSY CLINE, WILLIE NELSON and ALABAMA.
"Country radio doesn't spend a lot of time with our friends from the '70s, '80s and '90s," LFM RADIO/SAN DIEGO VP/GM RICK JACKSON said. "Rock music has Classic Rock stations and pop music has Oldies but Country mostly sticks with music from today. We're about to change all that. WILLIE & WAYLON, RANDY TRAVIS, BARBARA MANDRELL, GARTH, ALABAMA, MERLE HAGGARD, CLINT BLACK, DOLLY, CONWAY, THE OAKS, GEORGE JONES and early tunes from GEORGE STRAIT, ALAN JACKSON, REBA and the very best of Country music you never hear anymore. We've got it on KSON Legendary Country on KSON HD2. I love it and I know you will too. It's the genuine article, 24 hours a day and it's available right now!"
"The music and the artists speak for themselves," KSON PD KEVIN CLLAHAN said. "This is a celebration of 50 years of SAN DIEGO spelling Country K-S-O-N!"
