CRS 2013 Concludes With Industry Awards

Award Winners

CRS 2013 concluded FRIDAY evening (3/1) with the annual "NEW FACES OF COUNTRY MUSIC SHOW" at the NASHVILLE CONVENTION CENTER. In addition to performances from Country’s rising stars EASTON CORBIN, BRANTLEY GILBERT, JANA KRAMER, KIP MOORE,  and FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE (who also surprised the audience with a guest appearance by TAYLOR SWIFT), the CRS 2013 COUNTRY AIRCHECK AWARDS were handed out to professionals in the industry.

The "Station Of The Year" winners were CBS RADIO WUSN/CHICAGO (major market), CLEAR CHANNEL KAJA/SAN ANTONIO (large market), CLEAR CHANNEL WAMZ/LOUISVILLE (medium market), and CLEAR CHANNEL WUSY/CHATTANOOGA (small market).

"Market Manager/ GM Of The Year" awards were given to CBS RADIO KMNB/MINNEAPOLIS SVP/ Market Manager MICK ANSELMO (major market), EMMIS WLHK/INDIANAPOLIS VP/ Market Manager CHARLIE MORGAN (large market), BUCK OWENS BROADCASTING KUZZ/BAKERSFIELD GM MEL OWENS (medium market), and CLEAR CHANNEL WUSY/CHATTANOOGA GM JARED STEHNEY (small market).

The title of "OM/ PD Of The Year" goes to GREATER MEDIA WKLB/BOSTON PD MIKE BROPHEY (major market), CLEAR CHANNEL WNOE/NEW ORLEANS OM DON GOSSELIN (large market), JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP WCYQ/KNOXVILLE PD MIKE HAMMOND (medium market), and CLEAR CHANNEL WUSY/CHATTANOOGA OM GATOR HARRISON (small market).

"MD Of The Year" winners were GREATER MEDIA WKLB/BOSTON MD GINNY ROGERS, CLEAR CHANNEL WTQR/GREENSBORO MD ANGIE WARD (large market), CLEAR CHANNEL WSSL/GREENVILLE MD KIX LAYTON (medium market), and CLEAR CHANNEL WUSY/CHATTANOOGA MD BILL POINDEXTER (small market).

The "Personality/Show Of The Year" recipients were CBS RADIO WUSN/CHICAGO morning team LISA DENT and RAMBLIN’ RAY (major market), WILKS BROADCASTING KBEQ/KANSAS CITY morning personalities MIKE KENNEDY, JILLIAN GREGG and ZEKE MONTANA (large market), RUBBER CITY RADIO WQMX/AKRON morning show hosts SCOTT WYNN and SUE WILSON (medium market), and CLEAR CHANNEL WUSY/CHATTANOOGA afternoon personalities BILL POINDEXTER and MELISSA TURNER (small market).

Additional radio awards were given to AIRCHECK’s own LON HELTON for "National/ Syndicated Personality Of The Year," and CBS RADIO WUSN/CHICAGO VP/Programming JEFF KAPUGI won the honor of "New Face Of Country Professional."

Industry awards for 2013 went to BIG MACHINE for "Platinum Label" and BROKEN BOW RECORDS for "Gold Label." BIG MACHINE VP/PROMOTION JACK PURCELL won in his category, as did RCA NASHVILLE Dir./National Promotion JOSH EASLER and BIG MACHINE Regional Dir./Promotion JEFF DAVIS. And finally, the honor for "Independent Promotion Team or Executive" was awarded to NEW REVOLUTION of NASHVILLE.
