BBC NORTHERN IRELAND has apologized for RADIO ULSTER host GERRY ANDERSON's comment that he wants President BUSH to "rot in hell." The comment came on TUESDAY's show when ANDERSON mistakenly said it was BUSH's birthday (the actual birthday is THURSDAY) and added "may I say I hope you rot in hell." After complaints to the station, the BBC issued an apology; the U.S. consulate called the comment "regrettable" but noted that INDEPENDENCE DAY celebrates free speech.
