NASHVILLE-based CENTURY MUSIC GROUP (CMG) and THE RUKKUS ROOM RECORDING STUDIOS have joined forces to create a new record label with music publishing and artist management divisions, retaining the CMG name. Located in the BERRY HILL area of NASHVILLE, CMG's ART WARD and THE RUKKUS ROOM's JAMIE TATE co-founded the venture at the beginning of the year.
“I work with such talented people every day at the studio, but so many of them were going unheard and unnoticed. We want to give those artists the exposure they deserve,” said TATE.
“Becoming a record label was an obvious transition for us,” added WARD. “CMG handled everything you would expect a label to handle for an artist, without actually being a label. We felt it was time to make that transition.”
The CMG label has signed its first two artists, singer/songwriters STEFF MAHAN and MATT MARINCHICK.
