The FCC, through the UNITED STATES Attorney's NEVADA office, is suing ELY RADIO, LLC to recover $11,000 over the alleged failure to pay fines for lighting violations of the tower and change of ownership of the tower of KWNA-A/WINNEMUCCA, NV in 2008.
The government alleges that ELY RADIO owned antenna structure 1005854 in WINNEMUCCA after acquiring the station from SHEEN BROADCASTING CO. in 2006 (it sold the station to BUCKAROO BROADCASTING in 2012), and that the lights had been turned off because they were causing interference to KWNA audio. SHEEN said that ELY bought the tower, but ELY sad that it leased the tower and SHEEN remained owner and responsible for lighting.
The case remains open at the FCC, with an Application for Review by ELY still pending.
