Who's Next? Battle For The Best

SXSW 2013 was the scene for the 2nd annual WHO'S NEXT? BATTLE FOR THE BEST showcase as EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK's representative, RADAMIZ, took on LIGHTNING CLOUD, representing EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic KPWR (POWER 106)/LOS ANGELES.

The finale included the artists performing their original music and participating in two battle rounds. The grand prize winner, LIGHTNING CLOUD, was selected by fan votes via text during the TUNE IN live stream of the event. LIGHTNING CLOUD took home the $10,000 grand prize, studio time, the opportunity to perform at POWER 106's POWERHOUSE 2013 and a musical track from TIMBALAND. At the finale, INTERSCOPE's KENDRICK LAMAR also performed for the WHO'S NEXT? BATTLE FOR THE BEST crowd.

WHO'S NEXT? BATTLE FOR THE BEST is a new music competition made possible by SCION. WHO’S NEXT? is an online hip-hop new music discovery portal, which provides hip-hop artists the opportunity to upload two songs and three videos to the platform and visitors to the site can vote, rate and find new hip-hop talent. Over 3500 new artists participated in WHO’S NEXT? with 191,000 unique visitors visiting the site and voting on music, delivering over 2 million impressions.
