XM SATELLITE RADIO, which recently announced that it had passed the five million subscriber mark, adds some detail to that news with the disclosure that it added over 617,000 new subscribers in third quarter, putting it at 5.03 million subscribers at the end of the quarter. The quarterly figure is a 48% increase over the same quarter last year.
