NRG MEDIA/Wausau-Stevens Point has new programming leadership of its cluster of four stations. RW SMITH has been named as the OM for the group which consists of Top 40 WHTQ (HOT 96.7), Country WYTE (Y106.5), Adult Hits WBCV (BIG CHEESE 107.9) and Classic Rock WGLX. SMITH is a 20-year broadcast veteran with programming experience in TULSA, DES MOINES, LAS VEGAS and BUFFALO. Additionally, he worked in the early 90s in WAUSAU.
"Working with NRG MEDIA and having the opportunity to live in a wonderful place like the WAUSAU/STEVENS POINT Market is a true honor. At this point in my career, it is a thrill to have the opportunity to not only work with a great company with an outstanding culture, but do it in a place like CENTRAL WISCONSIN, means so much to me. These are four tremendous radio stations and I am excited about having the chance to get to know our staff, loyal listeners, and advertisers," said SMITH.
Most recently, SMITH worked for CUMULUS RADIO/DES MOINES where he served as PD of Country KJJY and Sports KBGG-A.
"RW brings a lot of unique qualifications and talents to our team in WAUSAU. I am so glad he is joining our team as he brings enormous skills to our four radio formats and he will bring leadership and vision to where our stations are headed in terms of delivering quality content to our listeners throughout CENTRAL WISCONSIN," said Market Mgr. CHARLIE THOMAS.
SMITH joins the broadcast organization on APRIL 8th.
