As tipped on SATURDAY (NET NEWS, 3/30), at 6:30p TODAY, Class Rocker KRRF (106.3 THE SURF)/SANTA BARBARA flipped to Classic Hits. The station is currently playing 10,006 "great, feel good" songs in a row from the '60s, '70s and '80s. Veteran programmer DUNCAN PAYTON joins CLASSIC HITS 106.3 as PD and air talent.
"It’s an absolute pleasure to help bring CLASSIC HITS 106.3 to VENTURA COUNTY and to join the impressive company the DICKEYS have built with CUMULUS," said PAYTON, who will also serve as PD for sister Sports KVEN-A/VENTURA. "Reuniting with MIKE MCVAY and getting to work with DICK STADLEN, SOMMER FRISK, CHRIS COX and the great team at CUMULUS/VENTURA is a true pleasure, especially in such a beautiful place to live!"
"We’re excited to have a programmer the caliber of PAYTON join CUMULUS," SVP/Programming MIKE MCVAY said. "He and I have history having worked together before. He is a star."
"DUNCAN's winning track record speaks for itself," OM CHRIS COX said, "It's a pleasure to welcome him to the family of talented programmers and on-air talent here at CUMULUS/VENTURA."
