KFWB-A Adds More Sports Programming

KFWB ASSET TRUST News/Talk KFWB/LOS ANGELES has added more programming from NBC SPORTS RADIO and CBS SPORTS RADIO and a local sports show in a move that puts Sports content in a prominent position in thwe station's lineup.
Added from NBC SPORTS RADIO will be AMANI TOOMER and EYTAN SHANDER's show for 7-10p (PT) weeknights (replacing the defunct MICHAEL SMERCONISH syndicated show) and ERIK KUSELIAS' morning show for 3-6a (PT) (replacing DIAL GLOBAL's AMERICA IN THE MORNING and FIRST LIGHT). From CBS, the station is clearing JIM ROME's commenaries but not his show, which left the LOS ANGELES analog dial with his move to the network (the show, previously heard on CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KLAC-A, was being carried by adjacent-market BCA Sports XEPRS-A (THE MIGHTY 1090) and on CBS SPORTS RADIO via CBS RADIO Adult Hits KCBS-F (93.1 JACK FM)'s HD-2 channel), and JOHN FEINSTEIN's commentaries. And "SPORTS KNIGHT WITH MICHAEL KNIGHT, a local show hosted by the KFWB anchor, will air 10p-midnight. The new lineup debuts on MONDAY, APRIL 15th.
"As the flagship station of the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS, we want to give our sports fans more of an opportunity to be part of the sports conversation," KFWB GM VALERIE BLACKBURN said. "We continue to look for ways to give our listeners and clients the best possible programming options available."
