Boston Bombing Comments By Rob, Arnie And Dawn Draw Fire From Rival Don Geronimo

Comments about the BOSTON MARATHON bombings made on a rival morning show drew fire from CBS RADIO Sports KHTK-A (CBS SPORTS RADIO 1140)/SACRAMENTO morning man DON GERONIMO WEDNESDAY morning (4/17), who spent a large portion of his show ripping crosstown ENTERCOM Active Rock KRXQ (98 ROCK) morning team ROB, ARNIE AND DAWN for what he described as making fun of BOSTON and the bombing victims.

GERONIMO told listeners that he heard his rivals start their WEDNESDAY show discussing how they had done a topic on TUESDAY's show about whether it was the correct time to make jokes about BOSTON, then deciding to compose a "Top-5" list of things they hate about BOSTON.   KRXQ Station Manager JIM FOX told ALL ACCESS that while such a list was teased, an actual list never aired.

"I can understand you want to be contrarian, I can understand you want to  be a shock jock, I can understand you want people to talk about what you're doing," GERONIMO said, "but what kind of stupid asses are you ... to be making jokes about it ... a random top-five list about what you hate about BOSTON.  I don't get it ... this is not something -- maybe I'm the one with the problem, that, you know, I'm the one that's the shock jock here doing the shock jock radio show and I don't feel good making jokes about what happened in BOSTON.  I love BOSTON and it pisses me off what they're presenting."

GERONIMO made several calls on the air to the ROB, ARNIE AND DAWN show, but got repeatedly cut off by the phone screener; he later called his CBS RADIO sister station, Sports WBZ-F (98.5 THE SPORTS HUB)/BOSTON, leaving a message about RAD's comments.  ENTERCOM also owns a cluster of stations in BOSTON.
