The CRTC has approved the move of NEWCAP Country CKKY-A (KEY 83)/WAINWRIGHT, AB from AM to FM, granting the station 101.9 FM with 50,000 watts at 169.5 meters above average terrain.
To smooth the approval process over, NEWCAP also applied for and received approval for a reduction of power for Adult Hits CKWY (93.7 WAYNE FM)/WAINWRIGHT from 100,000 to 50,000 watts, thus reducing overlap with its stations in the adjacent LLOYDMINSTER, AB market and ensuring compliance with ownership caps.
And the CRTC also approved the move of the CBC's LA PREMIERE CHAINE affiliate CBFG-F/CHISASIBI, QC's rebroadcasting transmitter CBFA-3-A/WEYMONTACHIE, QC to FM. The station will move to 92.3 FM with 50 watts at 76 meters above average terrain.
