In other filings with the FCC, GEOS COMMUNICATIONS is transferring FM translator W228CH/TOWANDA, PA to FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES, INC. for a change in city of license of FAMILY LIFE's noncommercial Religion WCIH/ELMIRA.
ERIE CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING, INC. has requested a Silent STA for low power FM WXNM-LP/ERIE, PA because "the licensee has been temporarily unable to finance the operation of the station."
KAU COMMUNITY RADIO INC. is asking the FCC for a Silent STA for noncommercial KAHU/PAHALA, HI, telling the Commission, "KAHU has been experiencing a lack of funding due a recent economic down turn in the southern region of HAWAII Island. Businesses do not want to invest because legally we can't 'sell' their product and they can't afford to give money away. And, since we don't have a 501(c)3 as of yet, grants and tax incentives for donors are few and far between. With that said, with all other vendors hanging on, our electric company could no longer keep the power on without a substantial payment. We are selling off equipment not in use to help, but it was not fast enough. the power has been off since 4/17/13."
AGM NEVADA, LLC has applied for a Silent STA for KARS-A/BELEN, NM while it completes work on the station's new diplex with sister Religion KDAZ-A/ALBUQUERQUE, where it will change frequencies..
CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for FM translator W207BX/CARO, MI while it looks for a new frequency to alleviate interference to SUPERIOR COMMUNICATIONS noncommercial Contemporary Christian WSMB (SMILE FM)/HARBOR BEACH, MI.
And CALVARY OF ALBUQUERQUE, INC. has closed on the sale of FM translators K278BQ/LAS VEGAS, NM and K216CK/TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, NM to VANGUARD MEDIA LLC for $6,000.
Also, the Commission approved the sale of several COX MEDIA GROUP stations to SUMMITMEDIA, INC. and CONNOISSEUR MEDIA LICENSES, LLC over the objection of CITIZENS FOR EQUITY IN TAXATION, which was found not to have standing to block the sale and its argument that like-kind exchanges should not be allowed because they are against the public interest "not an appropriate issue for consideration in this proceeding."
ALEX MEDIA, INC. was directed to amend its application to reallocate an unbuilt FM construction permit it holds for BLANCA, CO to reflect its requested change to AVONDALE, CO, partially upholding the objection of RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE. RADIO 74 pointed out that the change sought by ALEX would create an impermissible "grey area" losing coverage, and the Commission agreed with RADIO 74 that the application as filed cannot be granted, but directed ALEX to cure the flaw and refile.
The Commission approved the upgrade of DELTA RADIO NETWORK's WIBT/INDIANOLA, MS with a frequency change and upgrade from Class A to Class C2, allocating new frequencies for open allocations at DERMOTT, AR and CLEVELAND, MS. CUMULUS Country WGKX (KIX 106)/MEMPHIS objected to being downgraded to Class C0 under the proposal, but an amended application for WIBT with a power decrease eliminated the need to downgrade WGKX.
