Last OCTORBER, ALL ACCESS told you that ex-roadie-turned-filmmaker JOEL MILLER had just completed his first feature film, "The Still Life," which explores the sacrifices artists are forced to make to pursue their art (ALL ACCESS 10/4/05).
The film, which was both written and directed by MILLER, recently made its festival debut at THE AARHUS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (APRIL 20-25) in DENMARK. The film will also be screened at the ST. PETERSBURG FILM FESTIVAL (JUNE 23-26) in ST. PETERSBURG, FL, the WILD RIVER FESTIVAL (SEPTEMBER 6-10) in ST. PAUL, MN, the GREAT LAKES INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL (SEPTEMBER 20-24) in ERIE, PA., the FAIF FILM FESTIVAL (OCTOBER 5-14) at the CHINESE MANN THEATRE in HOLLYWOOD, CA, and INDIE MEMPHIS (OCTOBER 13-19) in MEMPHIS, TN.
As previously reported in last OCTOBER's story, filmmaker MILLER is a former roadie (having toured with the likes of GUNS N ROSES, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, THE CRANBERRIES, and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), and the film will feature both acting performances and music by a number of musicians, including JOSH TODD (BUCKCHERRY), JONATHAN DAVIS (KoRn), LOUISE POST (VERUCA SALT), KIM SHATTUCK (THE MUFFS), DIZZY REED (GUNS N ROSES), EDDIE HEDGES (BLESSID UNION OF SOULS), ANGELO MOORE (FISHBONE), and DELANEY BRAMLETT (DELANEY, BONNIE, AND FRIENDS).
